MVP First is the trading name of MVP FIRST LLC, a consulting company in Dallas, Texas. This policy explains what personal information we collect through mvp1st.com, why, and your choices. Questions go to inquiries@mvp1st.com.
The short version
- We collect what you type into our forms or send us by email, and data about how you use this site through HubSpot cookies.
- We use it to reply to you, send what you asked for, and understand which pages are useful.
- We do not sell your information for money. HubSpot, our CRM provider, may add your name and work email address to its own business dataset (see “Details added through HubSpot”).
- You can contact us about your information, or stop our emails, at inquiries@mvp1st.com.
What we collect
Contact form. First name, last name, email, company name, and your answer to “What is stuck?”
Get the Guide form. Your email, and your first and last name if you give them. After you submit, we send you straight to the guide. We do not send a follow-up email for this request.
Business Central customization form. This form opens a prepared email in your own email app. If you send it, we receive your email address and what you wrote.
Emails you send us. Whatever you include, such as your name, work email and message.
Website use. HubSpot records the pages you view, when and how often you visit, the page that sent you here, and your browser, device and approximate location from your IP address. If you submit a HubSpot form, this history is linked to your contact record. Cloudflare, our host, receives standard technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and stop attacks.
Details added through HubSpot. We manage inquiries in HubSpot, our CRM provider. Two HubSpot features add details to your contact record:
- From emails. When emails between you and us are logged in HubSpot, HubSpot reads them and adds or updates details such as your name, job title, phone number and address.
- From HubSpot’s business data. When a new contact or company record is created, for example when you submit a form, HubSpot uses your name and work email address, or your company’s website domain, to look up matching business information in its commercial dataset, from third-party providers and from public sources. It fills in empty details such as your job title, company name, industry and company size. Personal email addresses, such as Gmail, are not looked up.
We use these details for the purposes described under “How we use it”, and you can ask us to correct or delete them.
When HubSpot can verify a contact this way, it may add that person’s first name, last name and work email address to its own commercial dataset. HubSpot makes information from that dataset available to its other customers for their sales, marketing and other business activities, and for this it acts as a separate controller, not on our behalf. To have your information removed from that dataset, use HubSpot’s removal form. See also HubSpot’s Privacy Policy.
Please do not send sensitive information, such as health details, financial account numbers, passwords or government ID numbers, through our forms or by email.
How we use it
- To reply to you and discuss your project.
- To give you the guide or other material you ask for.
- To understand which pages and topics interest visitors and improve the site.
- To send occasional marketing emails about our services and resources to people who opted in. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the site and forms secure and free of spam and automated abuse.
- To keep business records and meet legal duties.
Who we share it with
We share information with these service providers, each for the purpose listed:
- HubSpot runs our forms, website analytics and contact records, sends our emails, and adds business details to contact records. For its business dataset HubSpot acts on its own behalf, as described under “Details added through HubSpot”.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and protects it from attacks.
- Google reCAPTCHA checks the Get the Guide form for automated abuse on our behalf.
- Our email provider delivers form notifications and email to us.
We may also share information with our professional advisers, when the law requires it, or with a buyer if the business is ever sold.
We do not sell personal information for money. HubSpot may add the names and work email addresses of contacts it enriches for us to its commercial dataset and make information from that dataset available to other customers. HubSpot says its disclosures from that dataset to enrichment customers may count as a “sale” or “sharing” under some state privacy laws. You can request removal through HubSpot’s removal form.
Cookies
We use cookies from HubSpot to understand how the site is used. On your first visit a banner lets you accept or decline them. If you decline, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we do not set HubSpot’s analytics cookies. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the banner does not appear and your browser setting decides; turn the signal off to make a different choice.
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
__hstc | HubSpot, on mvp1st.com | Counts visits and records first, last and current visit times | 6 months |
hubspotutk | HubSpot, on mvp1st.com | Remembers your browser so a form you submit can be linked to your earlier visits | 6 months |
__hssc | HubSpot, on mvp1st.com | Counts pages viewed in one visit | 30 minutes |
__hssrc | HubSpot, on mvp1st.com | Tells whether you restarted your browser | Until you close the browser |
__hs_opt_out, __hs_cookie_cat_pref | HubSpot, on mvp1st.com | Remember your cookie choice | Up to 6 months |
__cf_bm | Cloudflare, on HubSpot’s domains | Tells people from bots; needed for security | 30 minutes |
_GRECAPTCHA | Google reCAPTCHA, on the Get the Guide page | Security risk analysis against bots; needed for the form | Set by Google |
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. HubSpot collects information about your visits to our site through these cookies. HubSpot says it also uses information collected by its tracking code, such as IP addresses and online identifiers, to improve its products and services, including its commercial dataset, and processes that information for its own purposes as a controller (see HubSpot’s Privacy Policy). Other companies, including HubSpot, may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use our site. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a choice to decline HubSpot’s analytics cookies. Browsers’ Do Not Track signal has no agreed standard, so we do not respond to it separately.
Emails from us
We send marketing email only to people who opt in by ticking an unticked checkbox on our forms. Asking a question or requesting the guide does not sign you up. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link and our postal address. You can unsubscribe with the link in any email or by writing to inquiries@mvp1st.com. We honor unsubscribes within 10 business days and keep a record of the unsubscribe so we do not email you again.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry and guide-request information for the purposes described in this policy, considering whether the conversation is still active, our relationship with you, and legal or recordkeeping requirements. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed. We delete inquiries and guide requests after 24 months with no contact from either side.
We keep limited unsubscribe (suppression) information so we can keep honoring your opt-out. We keep client records as long as applicable law and our contracts require.
How we protect it
We use HTTPS and keep data in a few established services. We limit access to personal information to people who need it for their work. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
How to ask. You can contact inquiries@mvp1st.com or use our contact form with a privacy question or request. The inbox is monitored by our team. You do not need an account. A request sent through the contact form is handled as a request, not as a sales enquiry, and is not used for marketing. Someone you authorize can ask for you if they show us your permission.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a portable copy of your information, or to object to or restrict particular uses. We explain any applicable exceptions when responding.
What happens next. We may ask for information to confirm the request comes from you, in proportion to what you ask for. If you no longer use the email address we have, tell us and we will find another way to confirm. We respond within 30 days. If a legally permitted extension is needed, we tell you why and give the new date within those 30 days. We normally handle privacy-rights requests without charge. We charge a fee or decline a request only where applicable law permits, and explain the reason.
If we say no. We tell you why. You can appeal by replying with “Appeal” in the subject line, and we answer in writing within 45 days. If you live in Texas and we deny your appeal, you can contact the Texas Attorney General. You do not have to appeal before contacting a regulator.
We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
Visitors outside the United States
We are a United States business and we process information in the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, we handle your information as described in this policy and in accordance with applicable law.
Children
Our services are intended for business professionals, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. Please do not submit children’s personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact inquiries@mvp1st.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.
Client projects
This policy covers our website, marketing and our own business records. Information we handle on a client’s systems is handled on that client’s instructions, under our contract with them and applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy and its effective date when our practices change. Where required, we provide additional notice and obtain consent before applying a change.
